Specialvideo presents the 3D Tire DOT code reading machine for tires, in collaboration with Uteco Contec.

Specialvideo developed the 3D vision system on board the machine dedicated to reading the DOT code on tires, in collaboration with Uteco Contec

The fully automatic 3D reading cabin detects the DOT code printed on the tire in any position, without manipulating the tire.

The system works at high speeds and without knowing tire diameters and heights in advance.

  • Alternative configurations: top/bottom for reading from above or below

Realization

The 3D Tire DOT code reading machine integrates into the customer’s production line, where tires are moved in a line for code verification.

The machine has no moving parts, avoiding costly line reconfigurations and simplifying maintenance.

The statistics collected are easily accessible.

Calibration is a quick procedure that does not require skilled personnel.

Reading bold characters

The 3D image of the tire is reconstructed by laser line scanning to read the bold characters.

The code reading is based on deep learning with a hybrid solution that combines the strengths of neural networks with traditional algorithms: reliability, accuracy and generalization.
